About Cassandra Kane
Cassandra Kane grew up in Australia and travelled around a lot as a kid before settling in Sydney. It was there that she began tinkering with stories, filling note books with weird and wonderful characters having stranger and more exciting adventures than she ever seemed to have.
Cass received her first typewriter for her thirteenth birthday and started clacking away on it in two-fingered fury, pouring out stories of wonderful adventures set mostly in space or in alternate fantasy worlds. Her greatest influences during this period were C.S Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, Ursula K Le Guin's Earthsea books, and the lurid covers on her father's science fiction and fantasy books - all of which sparked countless ideas for stories. At the same time she also voraciously devoured Harlequin Mills & Boon novels - and romantic SF is now her favorite genre combination.
Cass moved to the UK in the mid-1990s and, after a decade of the London rat race, now lives in the English countryside -- where she spends way too much time surfing the 'net and watching D-grade horror movies.
